About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Capacity Access Officer to work in our Gas Transmission business in our Warwick offices

Support the future development and implementation of the National Transmission System Capacity and Access regime 
·    Identifying and supporting opportunities to develop the UK and EU gas commercial and regulatory framework. 
·    Helping to ensure we have the right systems, tools, products and processes in place at the right time to ensure compliance with the capacity access arrangements and to support management of the commercial risks to the current and future network in the best possible way.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • With support from the Principal Capacity Strategy and Development Analyst, ensure evolving regulatory obligations associated with the capacity and access elements of the commercial framework are fully complied with, through the definition and implementation of appropriate operational processes and identification of functional requirements to be delivered through IS system tools and processes (e.g. PRISMA and Gemini)
  • Support the scoping and carrying out of robust and comprehensive User Acceptance Testing on behalf of System Capability and Network Optimisation to ensure that IS systems meet the agreed requirements.
  • Review processes and IS system tools to support the capacity and access regime and ensure they are appropriate to meet compliance with commercial and regulatory obligations.
  • Internal and external point of contact for capacity and access arrangements 
  • Provide operational and commercial input into the revolution and evolution of the access arrangements to enable the road to net zero.
  • Provide operational and commercial input to Gas Network Development to support the optimisation of strategic solutions to meet incremental capacity requirements and other load and non-load related potential network development.    
  • Provide customers and the wider gas market with information associated with capacity and access processes in line with commercial and contractual obligations and provide support to customers to allow them to choose the capacity products most suited to their respective businesses.
  • Support timely and robust financial and regulatory reporting and business planning forecasts.
  • Support the development of Gas Access operational and commercial arrangements which enhance / protect value delivery
  • Provide expert advice, insight & education on the Entry and Exit capacity regimes in terms of license / code drafting / interpretation internally and externally to industry, regulatory and government bodies.
  • To undertake role(s) within the Network Emergency Management Team (NEMT) which will involve undergoing training and taking part in regular internal and external exercises and being called upon to fulfil this role in the event of an incident or emergency on the gas network.
     

About You

  • Knowledge of the Gas Transmission business its operation and associated statutory and commercial obligations
  • Knowledge of gas access arrangements
  • A strong track record in identifying, analysing and managing risks and opportunities
  • A strong capability to quickly learn and break down complex areas of the regulatory and commercial framework.
  • Understanding of industry codes (for example, the Uniform Network Code and/or the Grid Code) and license framework, including a working knowledge of associated legislation.
  • A logical, creative and practical approach to problem solving and ability to structure complex problems
  • A track record of strategic thinking and planning
  • Appreciation of physical operation of the gas transmission network

 

Supervisory/Interpersonal - Experience Required

  • Able to work effectively across virtual teams.
  • Demonstrable interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in dealing with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders 
  • Experience of working with service providers (e.g. Xoserve and PRISMA)

 

Qualifications:
Essential (at appointment): Numerate degree preferred or equivalent experience

A competitive salary between £38,300 – £48,499 – dependent on capability
