About the Role
The Analyst, National Grid America Reporting & Analytics takes part in the preparation of Consolidated US GAAP, Regulatory filings, including FERC, and prepares standard schedule to support UK IFRS Reporting. Provides support in preparing financial statements and financial statement analytics. Supports the monthly financial close process. Partners within Enterprise Business Services, Controllership, and other Record to Report teams to collect and review financial information and ensure accurate reporting.
Reports to the Manager, Global Reporting & Analytics and is responsible for preparing financial reports and analysis to support financial accounting and reporting requirements. Flexible working schedule to the office.
What You'll Do
- Utilize U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations on accounting pronouncements and implements accurate and effective disclosures.
- Verify, reconcile and update accounts by reviewing discrepancies to produce accurate and credible data. Partner closely with jurisdiction business partners to understand business financial performance, develop expectations and explain variance drivers.
- Partner closely with Regulation and Pricing to understand the rate plan impact on financial performance. Analyse and explain income statement and balance sheet variances and trends against expected and historical data.
- Monitor and report income statement, balance sheet and cash flow variances against budget and historical data to identify anomalies or discrepancies and ensure information is accurate and complete.
- Compile and review financial information to prepare financial statements including quarterly and annual accounts.
- Responsible for meeting financial filings and reporting deadlines.
- Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements.
- Support UK Group by coordinating and preparing semi-annual Group reporting pack.
What You'll Need
- Experience working with financial statement audit or preparation preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance and 1-2 years in Financial Reporting and or Accounting
- Demonstrated ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Intellectual curiosity
- Knowledge of general ledger platforms and accounting system experience
- Accuracy and accessibility of financial records
- Knowledge in SAP and BI preferred
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective collaboration and partnership capabilities
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Excellent written / oral communication skills and follow-up

Annual Salary
$80,000-$94,000
