Job Purpose
The Operator Qualifications (OQ) program is intended to promote pipeline safety and minimize human error by ensuring qualified and competent personnel can safely perform work tasks and recognize and react to abnormal operating conditions. NY Public Service Commission has issued a new Rule making on Op Quals. This position will support implementation of new NY ruling to ensure compliance through the NY Contractor OQ Assurance program.
Promote, validate, and foster required competency and compliance related to National Grid’s Gas Pipeline Operator Qualification contractor training and qualification programs.
Key Accountabilities
- Organize, attend, and actively participate in stakeholder meetings and document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
- Assist with development of presentation materials and conducting of presentations to stakeholders as warranted.
- Assist in facilitating meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure their views are managed towards the best solution.
- Undertake basic analytic support duties within team related assignments as required.
- Assist team members in the execution of team assigned projects.
- Actively assist with maintaining team weekly assessment calendar.
- Actively assist with team database tracking responsibilities.
- Provide office and administrative support as needed.
- Actively support team members in the execution of contractor related training session assessments.
- Secure knowledge and skill transfer experience required to conduct contractor training assessments independently.
- Assist in the identification of contractor training issues and provide solutions or recommendations for corrective action as applicable.
- Complete gas GFO related technical training to ensure the fostering of technical knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
- High school education required with a Bachelor's degree desired.
- Gas Construction and maintenance experience a plus.
- Three years of experience in a related field. (professional experience 1-2 years)
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written), and present as required
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Forms, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Evidence of strong personal initiative.
- Ability to interact with a diverse group of professional and company personnel.

$63,000 - $74,000 a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
