Data Strategy Specialist - Midlands (Hybrid) - £49,673

There’s the people who see the big picture, and then there’s you: The person who sees the whole picture. At National Gas, your perspective moves us forward.

As the Data Strategy Specialist, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering our data management strategy while strengthening the data agenda across the National Gas Metering business.

We are implanting IBM Maximo this summer, and this is the ideal time to establish how we as a business treat and drive value from data, from governance through to data driven decision making and analysis.

Your role will be crucial in establishing and leading governance across the business to protect and continually improve our data quality. You will lead business adherence against our data management standards and GDPR regulation.

You will establish and then chair the data governance group, steering the network of data champions from across the business to protect data management and quality.

You will map and review how the business holds and manages data, recommending optimisation and control best practises whilst owning the process of recording and reporting on data incidents from inception to completion, including the sharing of any lessons learnt.

In this role you will be supported and work alongside a team of data, MI and Insight specialists and form part of a broader business performance and digital transformation team.

You'll travel to one of our offices in the Birmingham, Solihull and Warwick area around 2 / 4 times a month to meet with your key stakeholders.

At National Gas, we really take the time to understand what you want to achieve out of your role and career, that’s why we encourage people to speak about their personalised development plan early on. This might be developing in your existing role, you might even have your sights set on a higher level position, whatever it is we will give you the support and tools needed to succeed.

If this feels like you, take a peek at the perks below

  • A basic salary of up to £49,673, dependent on experience and capability
  • A bonus of up to 10% based on personal and company performance
  • 26 days’ holiday plus statutory holidays – option available to buy extra holiday days
  • A pension scheme where we double match your contribution (maximum Company contribution of 12%)
  • Paid expenses for any business travel and accommodation
  • A flexible benefit scheme where you can opt into a whole host of lifestyle options
