National Grid is hiring a Manager of Director of Innovation and Digital. This position is be based in Warwick or London.

About The Role

 

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for technology and a drive to transform the legal landscape? We are on the lookout for a dynamic Director of Innovation and Digital to join our General Counsel function. This is not just a job; it’s an opportunity to lead the charge in redefining how legal services are delivered through cutting-edge technology and innovative strategies.

 

As the Director of Innovation and Digital, you will be at the forefront of our legal innovation strategy, responsible for implementing and adopting state-of-the-art legal technology. Your mission? To enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and digital maturity of our legal department. You will be a key player in driving transformation initiatives that leverage AI, data-driven decision-making, and change management to propel our legal function into the future.

What You'll Do

 

Legal Digital Strategy & Innovation:

  • Craft and execute a comprehensive innovation and digital strategy that aligns with our broader business objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to legal leadership, providing insights on the latest trends in technology and digital transformation.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by staying ahead of emerging digital tools and technologies.

Technology Assessment & Optimization:

  • Evaluate our current legal technology landscape, identify gaps, and drive the selection and optimization of legal tech solutions.

Transformation & Change Management:

  • Lead transformation initiatives, including process mapping and workflow analysis, to drive the adoption of new technologies across legal teams.
  • Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of technology and data-driven practices.

AI & Digital Enablement:

  • Champion the use of AI and digital tools to streamline legal processes and enhance collaboration.
  • Design and implement training programs to build digital and data literacy within the team.

Data Analytics Enhancement:

  • Develop a comprehensive data program to capture and analyze legal data, enabling actionable insights and improved decision-making.

Team Building & Leadership:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team equipped to meet current and future innovation needs.
  • Drive cultural change and manage complex projects with a collaborative approach.

About You

 

  • Significant experience in legal operations, legal technology, or innovation roles within a corporate legal department or law firm.
  • Proven track record of leading digital transformation initiatives in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Deep understanding of legal technology, AI, data analytics, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate evolving technology landscapes.

 

What You'll Get

  • Competitive Salary: circa £70,000 – £90,000 per annum (dependent on location, capability, and experience).

  • Bonus: On Target 20%

More Infromation

This role is offered on a permenant basis.
 
We are also offering hybrid /flexible working where travel to the office will be as per business need. Base location for this role will be Warwick or London
