Finance Data & Reporting Office (FDRO) is at the heart of supporting National Grid.  This role will report to the Global Reporting & Analytics Manager and suit a highly organised individual capable of establishing set routines and working as part of a Global team, contributing to the wider FDRO team’s deliverables.

 

We’re looking for a passionate Reporting Analyst to join the Global Reporting Team to provide reporting outputs in PBI based on business requirements and support in relation to Reporting queries and issues to one or more business functions or companies, with a particular emphasis on timely, accurate and complete reporting.

 

This role is based out of our Warwick office, and we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you! Enthusiasm for being part of a global team and the opportunities/challenges it offers is a definite plus. Dependable communication with US-based colleagues (within normal UK 0900-1700 business hours) will be expected.

What You'll Do

  • Lead on accurate reporting to Finance and business managers, consistently across a number of business areas as required. Provide additional financial analysis and evaluation. Deal with complex and non-standard ad-hoc requests in order to support the achievement of the business unit’s objectives.
  • Build, Maintain, and update data visualizations, dashboards, and analysis based on business needs, technology changes, and process changes.
  • Lead efforts to implement reporting solutions that accurately address complex business needs and partner with reporting analysts to deliver data solutions.
  • Be vocal in proposing technical solutions to stakeholders based on best-practices, avoid manual or “offline” reporting solutions where possible.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust dashboards in support of current business initiatives using technical expertise requiring sophisticated data analyses and data management experience.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance to manage and deliver data solutions and support departmental needs for ad hoc reporting.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering team to provide the technical feedback required for them to build and enhance best-in-class data models in Snowflake.
  • Produce monthly reporting ensuring the data used is consistent and accurate, the appropriateness of all inputs and outputs, and the completeness, consistency, and accuracy of all data to tight deadlines.
  • Lead on supporting Finance/Process Managers in establishing, maintaining and monitoring the financial control framework, ensuring compliance with all appropriate controls including those required for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

What You'll Have

  • PowerBI Experience.
  • Proficiency with SQL querying and knowledge of data modelling.
  • Producing financial reports, management reports and regulatory reports to tight timescales.
  • High standards for accuracy, but ability to progress when perfection isn’t immediate.
  • Capacity to work transparently with team members to solve difficult problems, prioritizing team success.
  • SAP/S4 HANA/SAC fluency.
  • Snowflake or similar data warehouse/datalake platform experience preferred.
  • Microsoft packages in particular excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to review, evaluate, summarise and appropriately challenge large quantities of data.
  • A Part-Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc) - Desirable but not essential
  • Experience of working with an offshore service centre.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an appreciation for the relationship between data quality, key performance indicators, and the Company’s success Performance excellence.
