How to apply

Our people are our superpower. They’re the energy behind National Grid, helping us deliver to our customers today, and create a more sustainable future for our industry tomorrow. To help us make progress in a fast moving world we need new, creative thinkers, digital natives, and passionate changemakers to join our journey. Here’s how to apply:

Application

Our online application should take around 30 minutes – and you can pause and return to it any time. All you’ll need to get started are your personal details, including your education history, course title and qualification, plus a little bit of knowledge about National Grid and the role you’re applying for.

Digital interview

At this stage we want to find out how you communicate and build relationships; what drives you, and how you tackle challenges. You’ll be able to record and complete your interview anytime and anywhere, so pick a quiet and comfortable are – you can record multiple times if you need.

Profile assessments

We’ll ask you to complete a series of short online games that look at different elements of your cognitive, emotional, and social traits. All you need to complete this stage is a device that’s connected to the internet and a quiet spot where you can focus.

The final interview

The last stage is an online interview, held using Microsoft Teams. We’ll ask you fo specific examples of time you’ve demonstrated some of our core competencies. You may also be asked questions specific to the job you’re applying for, such as technical questions or demonstrations of your knowledge on a particular topic.
