What to expect

Applying for a job at National Grid? Below is the general process you can expect.

Hiring process and estimated timeline at National grid

  1. Applicant sourcing = 2 weeks
  2. Testing* (if needed) = 2 weeks - Click here for test prep pack for union jobs
  3. Virtual Interviews = 2 weeks
  4. Job offer
  5. Post offer testing (medical/drug/background screening) = 2-4 weeks
  6. First Day

We use tools to assess a candidate's overall application, relative to the required job specifications in our live postings.  As an applicant to any National Grid job posting, you have the opportunity during the application process to opt out of having your application being assessed by tools, where applicable.
