Job Purpose

National Grid is leading the affordable transition to clean and sustainable energy.  As part of this global initiative, we are transforming the organization to a product centric operating model and replacing our legacy technology which is no longer fit for purpose.  Our new platform, Clean Energy 2.0 (CE2.0) will be a state-of-the-art application based on best of breed technology on a backbone of the Salesforce Utilities vertical.

This leadership role will be focused on leading a team that will be optimizing our business processes and aligning them to features and functions supported by the new platform as well as supporting the definition of new epics as the clean energy space continues to grow and mature.  While this is a business centric role, a strong understanding of technology and data, and how it supports business processes is a must.

The ideal candidate will be a forward looking, big picture leader with a thorough understating of lean process design and a proven track record developing or modifying complex business processes.  A key part of the role will be mapping these processes to existing technical functions and features.  Where the features or capabilities do not exist, the product team will be defining the new business capability needs.  Our development follows a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) model, therefore Agile requirements development experience is a must.  The candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record as a highly technical business analyst, architect, or release train engineer in a complex environment such as a utility, ecommerce, or a subscription-based model.  You will be leading a transition team responsible for the migration of all existing Energy Efficiency and Electric Vehicle programs, in partnership with the product teams developing, approving and the managing the entire migration roadmap to CE2.0. Experience with Salesforce is a must.

Key Accountabilities

  • Enable Energy Efficiency and Electric Vehicle program transition to new platform.
  • Engage the product team to develop the platform roadmap. Coordinate with other Agile Release Train (ARTs) to align roadmaps.
  • Own and deliver the business OKR’s.
  • Ensure the work of the program, including the scope of each project, covers the necessary aspects required to deliver the products or services that will lead to operational benefits.
  • Optimize the timing of the release of project deliverables into business operations, assuring a frictionless migration for the business.
  • Approve migration plan.
  • Assure coordination and clear communication of all products supported on the platform.
  • Manage the application support teams.
  • Continue to keep existing platform workable to meet stakeholder and regulatory needs.
  • Hold team members accountable to budgets and timely execution of sprints/work requests.
  • Develop and document continuous improvement of team through tools, processes, and procedures. Assure proper controls are in place and followed.
  • Identify performance indicators, develop quality assurance strategies, train, and grow employees.
  • Seek out and execute on additional cross-jurisdictional ‘continuous improvement’ opportunities.
  • Drive step change within the organization to take the Clean Energy Systems Support team to the next level.
