Job Purpose
As a Recruitment Business Partner, you will play a vital role in advancing National Grid’s mission to bring energy to life by identifying and securing the talent needed to power our future. In this role, you will provide strategic recruitment guidance and execute inclusive hiring practices to meet both immediate and long-term workforce needs. You will serve as a trusted partner to the business, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for all candidates while helping to build a workforce that reflects the communities we serve. This position is based in our local office and follows a hybrid work schedule.
Key Accountabilities
- Design and execute talent acquisition strategies that support workforce planning, ensure equitable representation, and proactively address talent gaps identified through succession planning.
- Source candidates through a variety of internal and external channels—leveraging data, sourcing expertise, and technology to ensure roles are filled by qualified, well-matched individuals.
- Partner closely with the internal Talent Sourcing team to align on hiring needs and deliver a positive, consistent candidate experience from first touch through offer.
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to fully understand their talent needs and provide strategic guidance in developing robust candidate pipelines.
- Collaborate with the broader recruiting team to execute outreach strategies including marketing campaigns, employee referrals, social media engagement, and digital sourcing tools.
- Proactively build and maintain a diverse pipeline of qualified candidates by continuously engaging with talent communities, reviewing applications, and participating in outreach events.
- Screen and assess candidates using structured, competency-based interview methodologies to evaluate both qualifications and fit for the role and organization.
- Present hiring managers with high-quality, pre-vetted shortlists of candidates, offering insight and guidance to support informed selection decisions.
- Effectively communicate National Grid’s mission, Employee Value Proposition, total rewards, and growth opportunities to prospective candidates.
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to support pre-hire assessments and selection tools where applicable.
- Ensure all recruiting activities and data practices meet compliance standards, including OFCCP and federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Actively participate in career fairs and recruitment events focused on veterans, early career talent, and inclusion and diversity—positioning National Grid as an employer of choice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; preferably an advanced degree and/or study in Human Resources.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Engineering or Operations recruiting is required.
- Experience recruiting for a variety of related positions of all experience levels (Mechanical Engineer, Analysts, Project Management and Operations).
- Advanced proficiency in Success Factors or a similar Applicant Tracking System is required.
- Knowledge of applicant tracking systems, OFCCP, Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.

Salary: $84,000 - $99,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
