Job Purpose

To supervise the maintenance and construction of large commercial and industrial metering systems.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee the operational workload for a team of union workers, ensuring allocated staff are fully utilized to deliver against the agreed program of work.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate the work involved in the maintenance and construction of larger commercial and industrial metering systems.
  • Ensure supervised team of union workers comply with safety standards, policies and processes to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff.
  • Promote and implement procedural best practice within the team to ensure all working practices are compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage an expense budget which includes labor, material, transportation and other operating expenses.
  • Understand the work execution process and work coordination of a technician workforce for the construction, operation and maintenance of metering systems.
  • Monitor performance of allocated staff, including issues relating to sickness, discipline and poor standards of work to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively
  • Responds to regular and off-hour emergency outages, taking necessary steps to safe guard customers and employees during restoration of our electrical system in a timely manner.
  • Exhibit knowledge of Meter & Test vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Responsible for the supervision of 6 -12 union employees across multiple offices within a division

 

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Excellent communication with a focus on active listening and presentation skills.
  • Experience with managing a team with the ability to build effective, respectful, working relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electronic or Electrical engineering with 3+ years of experience in metering or similar technical field, servicing customers and supervising employees
  • Associate's degree in electronic or Electrical engineering with 5+ years of experience in metering or similar technical field, servicing customers and supervising employees
  • Minimum of 7+ years experience in relay protection and control systems, metering, or similar technical field, servicing customers and supervising employees
  • Valid driver's license

Salary: $100,000 - $142,000
