Job Purpose
This key role will support the Gas Materials Testing Lab’s strategic initiatives and reporting. The role is expected to provide insightful data analysis, interpretation, and algorithmic creation for operational support.
The key individual will need to understand the business drivers that impact end-to-end processes, including regulatory, operational, and stakeholder engagement. The analyst would be responsible to identify opportunities to reduce cost and drive efficiencies.
Key Accountabilities

Review and analyze data to identify key trends and areas of opportunity. Work with team to develop best practices for laboratory use based on analytical outliers.

Ensure compliance and rate case requirements are successfully implemented and sustained within the operations organization.

Assist with documentation of best practices when performing testing.

Create, maintain, and facilitate cross functional hubs for relevant processes (i.e. meetings with field ops, GMS, etc. to discuss systemic issues).

Review documents, and report findings for laboratory improvement.

Create and execute key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive data-driven decision making and achieve continuous improvement.

Provide support for special projects and initiatives.

Review field data to ensure accuracy and identify areas of improvement, reaching out to field ops supervisors to amend incomplete data entry in the nonconforming materials database.

A working knowledge of Gas Distribution, Gas Operations, LNG/CNG operation, and Customer Meter Services.

Ability to work cooperatively across diverse teams.

Building and maintaining a network of relationships.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, analytical or project management related field or 1+ years related professional experience.
- Knowledge of gas utility, field operations and jurisdictional regulatory frameworks is a plus.
- Demonstrated championing, monitoring and continuous improvement in meeting group, while preserving quality testing records and other documentation for auditing purposes.
- Exhibit high personal standards of commitment and integrity.
- Ability to plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
- Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
- Ability to present suggested improvements and associated training to Laboratory personnel and broader audiences.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.
- Working knowledge of MS Access and PowerBI is a plus.
- Ability to travel, when working outside our jurisdiction (DNY) is required.
- Quality control/assurance background desired.
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with various company personnel at site and in the laboratory.

Salary
$95,000 - $112,000 a year
