National Grid is hiring a Principal Analyst, Program Strategy for our NY Electric Major Projects team. This hybrid role can be based in any of our locations in New York.
The Role
The Principal Analyst, Program Strategy on our Major Projects team will have significant strategic, financial, decision making, and leadership responsibilities. Working closely with other managers they will play a lead role in ensuring strategic alignment and long-term success for the Major Projects team.
What You'll Do
• Lead the development and refinement of program strategies to support the successful delivery of a large portfolio of electric transmission and substation projects
• Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments relevant to large-scale utility infrastructure programs
• Benchmark the company’s capital project practices against industry leaders and best-in-class standards
• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to Project Management leadership on program structure, delivery models, and investment planning including long-range forecasting, risk-based prioritization, and portfolio optimization
• Collaborate with project teams, finance, engineering, regulatory, and operations to align strategic goals with execution plans
• Develop and maintain executive-level reporting, presentations, and briefing materials to support leadership reviews, board meetings, and regulatory filings
About You
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Project Management, or a related field required
• 7+ years of experience in capital program strategy, utility infrastructure planning, project management, or related fields required
• 3+ years of utility experience required
• PMP, PgMP, or other strategy/project-related certifications are a plus

Salary
$148,000 - $165,000 a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
