Job Purpose

 

National Grid is seeking a meticulous and organized Control Tester to join our Gas Pipeline Safety & Compliance department. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively. This role requires proficiency in data analysis and data visualization to ensure the safety and compliance of our gas pipeline operations.
 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Conduct thorough testing of control designs to ensure they effectively address associated risks and comply with regulatory standards.
  • Review and analyze documentation, such as standards and procedures, to evaluate control effectiveness.
  • Document and report any design failures or gaps, and collaborate with control owners to develop and implement remediation plans.
  • Retest controls after remediation to confirm their effectiveness and compliance.
  • Utilize data analysis and visualization tools to interpret test results and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing activities and results.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including engineering, field operations, and compliance, to ensure comprehensive control testing and reporting.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.

  • Data Visualization: Ability to create clear and informative visual representations of test results using tools such as PowerBI or similar software.
     

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Business, or Information Technology.
  • Experience in control testing, compliance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Salary
$77,000 - $91,000 a year 
Salary commensurate with location and experience

 

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
