National Grid is hiring a Lead Community Solutions Account Managers based in MA.
This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to our locations
Job Purpose
Community Solutions Account Managers are focused on creating and implementing strategic energy plans with the company’s most strategic accounts in the communities we serve. These plans may include customized energy efficiency and electrification solutions, demand response, emerging technologies. This role will manage the cadence of the account plans by collaborating with the Sales, Corporate affairs and Connections teams on project development activities and manage the customer relationship in the context of growth planning and carbon reduction. Working as a single point of contact to our communities to help them best navigate all programs. This is a field-based individual-contributor position.
Key Accountabilities
- Active role in executing our Community Solutions initiative
- Work with selected communities to develop strategies that will allow them to fully participate in National Grids programs, such as Energy Efficiency, Demand Response, Electrification.
- Maintain a cadence of business with our community team, to ensure we meet National Grid’s goals and the community’s goals.
- Continue to build out and provide structure to the Community Solutions initiative.
- Work with Strategic Energy Management Plan (SEMP) managers to deliver SEMP plans and support to our most strategic customers.
- Develop expertise in carbon reduction planning.
- Lead and coordinate community meetings
- Demonstrates an energetic and enthusiastic manner toward decarbonization and the ability to add value to the customer and external partners. Including BERDO, Grants and other State Agencies as needed.
Knowledge & Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering and/or other related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years related work experience, to include 3 years’ experience in energy industry
- Ability to communicate vision and engage customers and stakeholders in strategic planning activities
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively identify customer needs, explore solutions and develop account plans, proposals, presentations and agreements
- Strong negotiation and leadership skills and the ability to make independent decisions
- Ability to effectively manage projects/initiatives through various stages and milestones
- Knowledge of National Grid programs and products; familiarity with rate structures, customer billing concepts.
- Knowledge of business and computer applications and an understanding of project management, reporting, data analysis
- Independently collate and analyze customer usage data in order to understand GHG inventory targets against current state and improve where needed.
- Be capable of walking through a customer’s facility and recommending various improvement measures based on National Grid Energy Efficiency Programs

Salary
$133,000 - $157,000 a year
Salary commensurate with location and experience
