National Grid is hiring a Lead Scheduler for our MA Gas Project Controls department in Waltham, MA.

The Team

We're a fun, collaborative team!  We provide P6 schedules for complex and Gas projects. We work closely with other internal stakeholders to deliver projects in a timely manner. We are strategic thinkers that consistently challenge the status quo to improve our schedules and provide feedback and reporting in support of the business.

What You'll Do

  • Work with the Manager to oversee QA/QC of the schedules
  • Review and analyze contractor baseline schedules and monthly schedules for adherence to the contract and the technical schedule aspects such as, out of sequence, open ended, constraints and lag
  • Assess gaps and key requirements for meeting construction schedules
  • Bi-monthly meetings with Project Management to ensure that project delivery changes do not impact the overall portfolio
  • Provide reporting as required by the Manager and represent Project Controls within the Project Management team
  • Maintain trending and historical data


  • A bachelor's degree preferred
  • 8+ years of scheduling experience in a gas utility, construction or engineering industry preferred
  • Proficiency in working with Primavera P6 is required
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team, with problem solving and analytical skill capability
  • Proven ability to analyze and investigate project conflict and its impact to the portfolio
  • Valid driver’s license required

$115,000 - $135,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
