Job Purpose
Become fully proficient in the use of company Geographic Information Systems (GIS) such as ArcFM/ArcGIS, ESRI, NRG, FORTIS
Updating/ maintaining SPIPE (service pipe database), including new service input, changes to existing services, and data quality corrections.
Plot New Main extensions, basic Reinforcement Mains, and data quality corrections.
Plot all Gas Service types GIS and other systems.
Key Accountabilities
• Research facility records and/or distribution system field conditions,
• Interpret and communicate facility information to internal and external customers by radio, phone, in person or through written communication
• Gather changes in the distribution system by correspondence with city/towns and process changes.
• Perform quality reviews of facility information prepared by field personnel and maintain new facility information in GIS and other systems
• Input facility work in GIS, and input/type administrative activity information into requisite spreadsheet, database or word processor applications.
• Copy/print/plot/fax facility work and administrative activity information
Maintain mapping equipment and supplies for scanners, plotters, and related equipment Research and update scanned documents to ensure integrity of data.
• Update and maintain facility work and administrative activity requests
• Scan, index, and file all field documents
Plus, all other M&R Tech II & M&R Tech III duties outlined in previous agreement not specifically identified here.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated computer skills and applications (word processing and spreadsheets).
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret gas distribution system information and drawings
• Ability to plot and record standard mains, services, and gas assets in GIS and other systems preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of mains and services facility documentation.
• GIS experience preferred, customer system experience a plus
• Possess a valid driver's license
• High School diploma or equivalent

Salary Hourly $28.01 Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
Many of the terms and conditions of employment for this position are defined by a collective bargaining agreement that the Company has with a local union.
