Job Purpose
This position is responsible for supporting the short-term and long-term planning of the Company’s regulated gas portfolios.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the Planning, Contracting and Procurement process for the natural gas supply and capacity for the Company’s regulated gas portfolios.
- Updates, maintains and performs analysis on various and complex spreadsheet models to ensure that gas supplies are reliable and adequate to meet customer demand.
- Responsible for implementing and reviewing a daily course of action, which is consistent with the monthly gas supply plan.
- Provide least-cost and reliable service to the Company’s utility customers in compliance with jurisdictional rules, policies and practices to ensure full recovery of the Company’s costs and maximization of any incentives.
- Assist in the development of planning strategies in strict compliance with the Company’s financial and risk policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of all regulated gas planning strategies for the Company’s regulated gas portfolio in strict compliance with the Company’s financial and risk policies.
- Contribute to the Company’s supply acquisitions and capacity contracting, including analysis required for evaluating these contracts.
- Support the Company’s Customer Choice Programs.
- Handles audits and requests for information from state regulatory agencies, trade organizations and others with respect to customer demand data, weather, natural gas prices, and gas supply contract information.
- Provide professional and knowledgeable representation on behalf of the Company at events and meetings as assigned.
- Develop relationships with external organizations such as suppliers and pipelines to pursue the Company’s objectives, identify opportunities, and evaluate potential vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred major in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or other analytical discipline.
- 3+ years related experience in energy procurement functions such as portfolio planning, scheduling, trading, gas control operations, energy risk management, and energy accounting.
- Advanced written and oral presentation skills
- Must possess excellent problem solving and analytical skills to work in this data intensive position.
- Must have the ability to work with very detailed natural gas price and gas contract data without losing sight of the big picture. Possess skills that enable candidate to work quickly in a fast-paced environment yet ensure overall quality and accuracy of work product.
- Must feel comfortable using various computer models, data base applications and complex Excel spreadsheet modelsA knowledge of natural gas markets and infrastructure, including supply, storage, transportation, transmission, generation, and capacity is helpful.

$98,000 - $115,000 a year
