Job Purpose
Drive the development of innovative products and solutions in energy efficiency, demand response, and building decarbonization for residential, commercial, and income-eligible customers. As part of the Customer Energy Management (CEM) New England Growth and Development team, the Product Developer will create offerings that help customers achieve their energy management goals and manage demonstrations to validate feasibility.
Key Accountabilities
- Generate concepts to meet customer and market needs within the company’s energy efficiency, demand response, and decarbonization programs.
- Translate market needs into specific product requirements and success criteria for sustainable offerings.
- Build and nurture external relationships to drive market development of innovative customer offerings.
- Manage vendors executing demonstrations of new technologies.
- Engage external stakeholders in the product innovation process, evaluating new concepts through established frameworks.
- Communicate proactively with internal partners about product delivery, capabilities, and new offerings, including validating customer economics and pilot success criteria.
- Support the CEM Growth and Development manager in evaluating technology offers and communicating prioritized needs.
- Provide updates and metrics to assess the health of the product innovation portfolio.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, social science, or engineering, with up to 5 years of relevant experience; advanced degrees preferred.
- Knowledge of the electric and gas industry, energy efficiency program planning, and regulatory processes.
- 2+ years of experience in energy efficiency evaluation or related analytical work.
- Familiarity with product management best practices.
- Strong communication skills; PMP, CEM, or CSM certification is a plus.
Capability Requirements
- Analyze data to identify relationships and potential causes of energy efficiency program results.
- Recognize patterns in energy efficiency and decarbonization data, applying past learnings to current situations.
- Conduct root cause analysis to understand gaps and design effective solutions.
- Foster team effectiveness by soliciting input, communicating expectations, and delegating responsibilities.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal and external teams to develop products and partnerships.

Salary
$105,000 - $124,000 a year
Salary commensurate with location and experience
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
