Job Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated individual to lead and develop a dynamic group of 7 customer-centric Project Managers. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a portfolio of critical and high-visibility MA electric customer connection jobs, each requiring end-to-end management and a laser focus on the operational activities within the connection process. Customer satisfaction and project timeline adherence will be core tenants of this position.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the team’s overall project performance including monitoring their projects’ compliance with schedule, cycle times, and customer satisfaction.
  • Take ownership of the team's customer satisfaction performance by monitoring key metrics, implementing improvement strategies, and ensuring alignment with company standards to enhance overall customer experience.
  • Act as an escalation path for high-profile or challenging projects and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders and leaders across the Electric, Customer, Operations Support, and Corporate Affairs organizations for creative problem solving.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, formal quarterly reviews, and end of year performance reviews with team.
  • Carry out all hiring, orientation, training, mentoring and development needs of project management team.
  • Ensure team maintains reporting cadence for all project stakeholder reports and updates.
  • Identify capital efficiency, cost-reduction efforts by assisting reviews of projects and championing efforts with the team.
  • Foster a team environment that prioritizes collaboration with customers and stakeholders to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Maintain knowledge of project management processes, contract management processes, organizational structure, and other discipline processes.  
  • Create team environment of process improvement identification and implementation.
  • Facilitate and champion the introduction and implementation of new technologies, innovative solutions, and process changes to improve the delivery of projects safely, on time, and in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in electric operations engineering, project management, utility construction or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area desired. However, candidates with degrees in non-related fields, coupled with significant experience in project management, construction, and operations, will also be considered. Master’s degree in engineering discipline, MBA or relevant equivalent preferred.
  • Strong grasp of project management concepts
  • Proven success in leading and prioritizing customer relationship management.
  • Experience working in a matrix organizational structures and processes.
  • Preference given to candidates with a Professional Engineering license and/or Certified Project Management Professional.
  • Ability to create a high-energy team climate whereby team members can discuss relevant issues freely and where there is a strong emphasis on continuous improvement.
  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.

Salary: $169,000 - $199,000
