Circuit breakers, transformers, disconnectors, compressors and auxiliary systems: as part of our Substations team, you’ll be tasked with looking after our electricity substations and high-voltage electricity equipment, helping us keep the lights on nationwide.
Operations, Liquefied Natural Gas
Based at our Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility in Kent, you’ll learn how to carry out thorough on-site inspections and maintenance to make sure our LNG operations keep running safely and smoothly.
Overhead Lines, Electrical Transmission
You will have responsibility for the safe construction, maintenance and repair of the UK’s electrical transmission power network. You’ll be working at height, climbing steel transmission towers to install, maintain, test, repair and dismantle overhead line plant equipment safely.
Fitter, Electrical Distribution
Responsible for the safe construction, maintenance and repair of the electrical power network – As a power networks fitter you'll work in and around our substations, using electrical knowledge and skills to install and maintain high voltage plant and apparatus including transformers, switchgear, and cable terminations.
Jointer, Electrical Distribution
Our underground cable engineers carry out excavation, cable laying, reinstatement and fault location on low voltage cables. You'll construct distribution substations, carry out routine inspections, locate faults, and carry out repairs on underground cables and equipment.
Overhead Lines, Electrical Distribution
Responsible for the construction, maintenance, testing, repairing, and replacing of Electrical Distribution overhead lines and equipment – You'll be expected to work at heights (wooden poles), carrying out routine inspection, maintenance and repairs on Electrical Distribution’s overhead lines equipment.
Projects, Electrical Distribution
Working either in our Overhead Lines or Fitter projects teams, you'll carry out similar duties to your non-projects counterparts however, you will be working across an entire region on larger overhead lines and substations, with distribution systems up to 132kV.
