About the role

Join us and help drive national energy projects.  

 

This is your chance to help make Net Zero happen by leading the commercial strategy for the infrastructure that connects low carbon energy to the existing electricity transmission system. You will implement the commercial strategy throughout the Strategic Infrastructure (SI) business unit, hitting key milestones along the way to enable both delivery and business growth. You'll manage a portfolio of high profile projects, and the lessons learnt will be shared across the wider business. 

 

This role welcomes applicants UK wide, and we offer hybrid working from office and home. You can expect to travel to our UK offices as required and your local office at least once a week. 

Key accountabilities

  • Lead the implementation of Commercial Excellence projects. 
  • Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies to drive business growth.   
  • Prepare technical authority/policy papers on commercial strategy to make recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Regularly prepare and deliver detailed project status reports.
  • Employ a robust risk management process, whenever change is required, ensure it remains within governance. 
  • Ensure visible and accessible communications are in place throughout the lifecycle of a project, such as behavioural charters, frameworks, contract management plans, capability pathways and lessons learnt.

You will be working in a busy, buoyant environment with lots of variety and change. You’ll need to be resilient, driven, and good at prioritising and managing your own time, particularly when the unexpected crops up.  

 

The strength of the portfolio delivery depends on excellent teamwork so you’ll have to be good with people too. You make decisions based on the greater good and carefully consider the communities you are working in.   

 

You'll have experience of commercial principles, network engineering and transformation. Experience in power transmission is preferable. 

 

You'll be educated to degree level, or equivalent, in an engineering discipline. A full UK driving licence is essential and you'll be flexible to some overnight UK travel.

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £65,000 – £80,000 – dependent on capability. 

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a job requirement car, a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
