Design, deliver and manage community benefit and social value initiatives, including partnership opportunities, team volunteering and the delivery of a suite of school engagement for Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2), in line with the project’s community and socioeconomic benefits strategy. Provision of site office / education centre admin

About the role

 

  • Working with the Project Director, Senior Project Managers and External Affairs Manager, develop, agree and deliver project community benefit initiatives for EGL2 in the Yorkshire and the Humber region, in a way that responds to local aspirations, ensuring compliance with internal policies, agreed budgets and aligns to the overarching strategy.
  • Deliver local community benefit initiatives, including school engagement and project volunteering, during EGL2’s construction phase and investigate legacy opportunities, as agreed in the local community benefit plan.
  • Facilitate the use of the visitor hub to host stakeholder and school visits and support with the information presented and resources inside.
  • Support the External Affairs Manager with the delivery of engagement strategies which seek to understand local aspirations.
  • Work closely with Community Benefit Leads on other projects to support regional collaboration and drive consistency.
  • Collaborate with the main works contractors on EGL2 to deliver a joined up and complimentary suite of volunteering opportunities, engagement with regional and local partners, and school engagement. Utilise existing programmes such as Grid4Good/regional partnerships, or new opportunities where they can be justified.
  • Develop case studies and good news stories in relation to local community benefits, which support the External Affairs Manager in raising the reputation of the project.
  • Capture and report community benefit outputs and volunteering hours, aligning with the Responsible Business Team, the industry social value tool and any requirements set out in the government guidance
  • Ensure the smooth running of the education centre at Wren Hall together with office admin as required

About You

 

  • Experience of effectively managing relationships with contractors and suppliers.
  • Experience of engaging with external stakeholders such as communities and local councils. 
  • Excellent communications skills. Highly articulate with strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record in developing effective community networks and relationships to support the development and delivery of construction projects.
  • Experience of working with third party suppliers, managing progress, performance, contracts, and budgets.

A competitive starting salary between £39,057 - £42,503 – dependent on capability.
