About the role

As Document Controller you will provide document control for complex, multi-site projects to ensure the delivery of compliant and traceable project documentation.

 

You’ll be the interface with the Main Works Contractor’s document controller and systems to ensure that all contractual documents are correctly administered in compliance with National Grid’s policies and procedures. 


Ensuring that all documents are reviewed, approved, and that changes are identified and updated, you’ll distribute documents to relevant parties, making sure that documentation is controlled and traceable to form part of an audit trail.  In addition, you’ll administer the SharePoint site.

 

Ideally based in the Southwest of England, you’ll mostly be working from home, with a requirement to work from the office in Hewish, Somerset, at least once a month.  Occasional travel to sites for visits will be required.  

 


 

What you'll need

 

You’ll be highly computer literate and have experience in the use and application of standard MS applications; in particular, SharePoint, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.


Extensive experience in the use of Common Data Environments (CDE) and/or collaboration software is key as is experience of project delivery and using naming conventions and metadata in document control.


Experience and Knowledge of project handover records and requirements would be an advantage as well as an awareness of: Construction contract environment, including contractual terms of conditions and processes.


You’ll also have proven planning and processing management skills and organisational skills.
