Land Data Analyst

Location:

GB

Division:  SI Land & Property
Job Type:  Full Time
Requisition Number:  67154
Department:  Electricity Transmission - Non-Operations
Job Function:  Data Analysis and Analytics

About the role

We're investing for the future, connecting more low carbon electricity to our network.

Bringing together the expertise and insights of skilled professionals, from surveyors and land managers to safety and sustainability experts, we work responsibly and safely to support National Grid’s commitment to make energy reliable, clean and affordable for consumers; to deliver new uses for land we no longer need; and to optimise our operational estate. We're at the forefront of the biggest period of change in the electricity network since the 1960s to meet the demands of Net Zero.

The Land Data and Digital team is responsible for enabling a team of surveyors and other property specialists to do their day to day work smarter and more efficiently. We manage data about hundreds of property sites, and tens of thousands of electricity assets, landowners and legal agreements adhering to strict GDPR rules.

You'll be responsible for the proper stewardship of the Land team’s ‘digital office’ and its data, using Microsoft software. You will develop a key understanding of the relationships between these datasets, how they are managed, and how our performance around data and processes can be improved.

You'll support the Land Data and Digital team in developing new Microsoft applications (including Power Automate and Power Apps) and develop new automated solutions for the Land Team. You will understand the relationships between these datasets, how they are managed, and identify solutions to how our performance around data and processes can be improved.

You'll have the communication skills to engage effectively with the teams who create and use the data. You will be interested in the Property industry, intellectually curious, and will excel at finding intelligent solutions to improve a process or fix a problem. You'll be able to communicate complex information simply, to a wide ranging audience.

In this role you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to ad hoc travel to offices in Warwick, London, Birmingham or Leeds and project sites. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

Key accountabilities

  • Understand how each of our Land teams use and create data in their day-to-day work, together with the department’s wider objectives and business strategy.
  • Support the Land SharePoint site collection strategy and overall day-to-day management of Land SharePoint site collections.
  • Understand compliance requirements and implement good governance relating to the Land data, processes and systems.
  • Understand National Grid’s wider systems (e.g. EAM, CRM, GIS), and our external supplier systems, and support the Land Data Lead with engagement and solution development with those system owners and wider NG Data and Digital team, to maximise the potential for data integration, automation and exchange.
  • Support the Land Data and Digital team in enabling resilience during The Great Grid Upgrade period and ensuring effective team working.
