This role sits within National Grid’s Group Communications team. If you’re proactive, resourceful, and have a good eye for a news story, we want to hear from you. We’re looking for an experienced communications manager with a flair for creative thinking, passion for delivering great broadcast and print coverage, and a desire to shine a light on brilliant stories within our business. Key Accountabilities:


This exciting role at the heart of the Communications team will involve developing and delivering our media strategy, working closely with the wider Corporate Affairs team to build and enhance our reputation. You will work with stakeholders across the business to showcase National Grid’s role in progressing the energy transition and delivering a clean, fair and affordable energy future. As part of this, you'll be developing new and exciting narratives to build our reputation as a responsible business, with a focus on highlighting our diversity, equity & inclusion work, the need to build the net zero workforce of the future, and engineering innovation. 

About You:


We’re seeking a communications expert who has experience of delivering compelling media coverage across broadcast, print and digital outlets. You’ll be able to build and maintain excellent relationships with both the media and internal stakeholders. You’ll have experience of managing issues and crisis, and securing speaking opportunities, and will hold a key role in our 24/7 press office. You’ll be excited about showcasing the very best of National Grid as we work to secure the transition to clean energy.

 A competitive salary up to £65,000 – dependent on experience

  • This role is hybrid working, between our Corporate HO at The Strand and home, and we can offer some flexibility in hours too if required.  It can also be based at Warwick, Warwickshire, though some travel to London will be required
