Group Head of Strategy
London, GB, WC2N 5EH
You've already got strategy development experience, of course.
You've held roles in innovation, and you understand the energy sector and regulatory issues that affect the industry.
But have you held a senior leadership role in a FTSE top 25 company with both a UK and US presence?
Could your legacy be that you helped the global mission to achieve net zero?
Do you want to be front and central in leading the charge to a cleaner and greener future?
As we head towards a net zero future, this comes with many strategic questions for both National Grid as a business and the wider sector. The SIMA division leads on answering high-level strategic questions for the CEO and Board, and partners with the wider industry to answer the big picture industry-wide questions.
Leading Strategy, Innovation and Market Analytics across the UK and US East Coast, you will support the organisation in defining its strategic direction and how to adapt to the changing energy environment, enabling net zero and drive the organisation’s future growth, with a focus on National Grid portfolio strategy and cross-company issues.
You will have significant experience already at leading the strategic discussions within PLC boards and senior leadership teams and so will understand the need for the correct preparation and presentation of materials, ensuring value-adding strategic discussions.
You will be naturally inquisitive and create a culture where leaders of the business are making informed, data led decisions. Leaning into existing experience of leading innovation, you will ensure that National Grid focuses in areas guaranteed for success.
Given the level of this role, you will receive unparalleled exposure to the executive committee and our senior leadership teams who are working on the highest priority issues.
You will be joining a high calibre, curious and inclusive team who are all striving for excellence.
This role will be based at The Strand, London, with hybrid working options. You will manage teams based in Warwick, UK and will require UK and US North East travel for short trips.
Do you continually strive to find a better way?
Do you want to make it happen?
If the answer is yes, then you align very much to the values we live and breathe.
Application deadline: 16th December 2024
