National Grid is hiring two Trainee Development Assessors. This position can be located in either Eakring, Tipton, or Taunton.

 

We have 2 fantastic opportunities to join our team as Trainee Development Assessor‘s 1 on a Full Time, Permanent basis and 1 on an 8-12month fixed term contract for maternity leave.

 

Please note this is not a trainee tole, this role is assessing our trainees whilst they are partaking in our apprenticeship schemes

 

You will be committed to the development and performance of National Grid learners by planning and delivering progress reviews to ensure learners are progressing and performing to required standards.

 

This role will work collaboratively with the Development Programmes and wider HR Teams and business coordinators to ensure learners have the support in place.

 

The role will sit within the Apprenticeships team reporting to the Apprenticeship Specialist.

 

As you will be working with employees aged between 16 and 18, we will require a DBS check to be undertaken by the successful applicant at the Enhanced level.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of apprentice progress reviews, providing effective on-going assessment of progress, advice, and review of Portfolio of Evidence.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up to date documentation on all learner reviews.
  • Provide confidential support for all learners and have an awareness of the escalation process for any risks or issues, applying this where necessary.
  • Carry a caseload and work on your own initiative, working with various stakeholders to plan and coordinate.
  • Deliver apprentice review briefings to National Grid apprentices.
  • Provide learner review data to stakeholders within agreed timescales.
  • Support wider team by minute taking at various meetings.
  • Monitor team communication channels. Attend and partake in learner quality improvement group meetings.
  • Support the end point assessment process for apprentices, including carrying out gateway meetings and attending final decision panels.

About You

 

  • Posses the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students.
  • Proficiency in organisational skills with proven ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressured environment.
  • Self-motivated and resilient, with excellent risk assessment, recording and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of adolescence and emotional / developmental needs of young people.
  • Skills in empathy, understanding and listening. Ability to work as part of a team and to take a flexible, professional approach.
  • Experience of working with students or young people.
  • A knowledge of the OFSTED Education Inspection Framework is desirable.
  • Experience of assessing, mentoring or coaching apprentices is desirable, ideally coming from an existing teaching or training background.
  • Experience designing and delivering presentations and training to learners.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons in line with National Grid policies and the Keeping Children Safe in Education Government guidelines and experience in this area is desirable.

  • This role is offered on a Full-Time, Permanent basis. 
  • We are also offering hybrid /flexible working where travel to the office will be as per business need. This position can be located in either Eakring, Tipton, or Taunton.
