We're a team responsible for the security, resilience and compliance of critical systems and networks in National Grid Interconnectors.
As an Operational Technology Engineer, you'll be site-based with occasional trips to the Warwick office. This role will be varied with many interesting areas of work so no day will be the same. You will be the eyes and ears of the system and cyber security business on the ground so will be responsible for managing and securing key operational systems critical to the operation of our portfolio of interconnectors.
In this role you'll hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel. This is mainly a site-based role which will cover two Interconnectors (North Sea Link and Viking Link) on the North East and East Midlands coasts.
Key accountabilities
- Responsible for site systems, ensuring their good working order and ensuring physical maintenance and patch updates are administered correctly.
- Responsible for leading investigations into any defects/incidents.
- Asset management lifecycle including managing obsolescence.
- Response and recovery processes and procedures.
- You will be crucial to the Backup and Restoration process, managing backups and recovery.
- Arrange and assure suppliers work to physical assets.
- HW & networking changes including testing.
About you
- Operation Technology background with an understanding of the energy industry.
- Relevant technical experience i.e. managing and configuring OT systems (ideally both software and hardware).
- Knowledgeable on networks.
- Confident to oversee and carry out maintenance work on physical hardware.
- Familiar with SCADA and Control and Protection Systems.
- The ability to clearly communicate to a diverse range of stakeholders from Site Engineers to Systems Managers.
- Full UK driving licence.
