About the role

The most ambitious upgrade to the UK's electricity grid in generations is under way.

National Grid Strategic Infrastructure delivers major strategic UK electricity transmission projects, focused on connecting more clean, low-carbon power to England and Wales. 

 

That's why we're looking for two PMO Performance Leads to support the successful delivery of our Onshore portfolio, embedded within each Construction project. 

 

This role is centred on building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, utilising exceptional communication and influencing skills to drive project performance and strategic discussions. The PMO Performance Lead is a dynamic and customer-focussed position, requiring someone with extensive experience in stakeholder management and engagement. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of data analytics and performance metrics, leveraging insights to inform decision making and enhance project outcomes.  

 

In these roles you can enjoy our hybrid working from office/site and home. You'll be flexible to travelling to sites in either Yorkshire or Suffolk 2-3 days per week.

Key accountabilities

Governance & oversight: Ensuring compliance to client PMO standards, methodologies and best practice. 
Project Management Office activities: Acting as the main point of contact for PMO coordination activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and resource availability. 
Performance monitoring: Tracking project performance metrics and ensuring the right discussions are taking place to drive performance. 
Stakeholder engagement: Communicating with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations and ensuring involvement throughout the project lifecycle
PMO improvement initiatives: Continuing to work closely with the Performance Reporting & Data team to deliver and embed improvement and transformation initiatives across the Onshore portfolio. 

About you

  • Exceptional ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at various levels, advocating for data-driven decisions and securing buy-in for projects and initiatives.
  • Strong skills in engaging with diverse stakeholders, understanding their needs and expectations, and effectively addressing concerns to foster positive working relationships.
  • Exceptional organisational abilities, capable of managing multiple projects and tasks efficiently while ensuring timely delivery of projects and activities.
  • Experience in working collaboratively within a team environment, contributing to a positive team culture and supporting colleagues in achieving their goals.
  • Solid understanding of data management principles and performance metrics, with the ability to leverage technical knowledge to inform decision-making and support team activities.
  • Strong understanding of Power BI front end and its functionalities.

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £55,000 – £60,000 – dependent on capability. 

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
