About The Role

The Grimsby to Walpole upgrade project is part of a key set of Grid Grid Partnership upgrades to transmit renewable energy across England. This major project spanning Lincolnshire to Norfolk, initiated in 2023 and is due for completion in 2033
This role is home and site based as required and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.
We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.
About You

- Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.
- An Awareness of NEC Contracts
- Good understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies.
- Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Previous experience of project site management capability of working to deadlines and in a contracting environment.
- A passion for the world National Grid are building and the UK road to Net Zero.
Applicants may typically hold qualifications such as NEBOSH / IOSH / SMSTS /CQI / IRCA Quality In Construction Training and be familiar with standard contract terms and conditions i.e. FIDIC,BEAMA and NEC

What You'll Do
- You’ll ensure that the Principal Contractor (PC) is pro-active in discharging his duties under the CDM regulations, not least in managing all safety aspects of the construction based activities
- You will facilitate regular site safety walks, holding coordination meetings with all contractors on site, ensuring that access/egress to the site is controlled and maintaining a site log/diary.
- You will proactively review the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Providing input, you will review and comment on the deliverability of the PC Site Delivery Programmes and proactively monitor all activities, promptly advising the EPC Project Manager of any programme risks.
- You’ll ensure the PC is proactive in holding Site Progress Meetings and issues minutes of these meetings, a file of these to maintain on site minutes and any relevant documentation as required by the project and EPC PM
- You’ll support Quality Assurance monitoring in the region.
- Familiar with industry construction standards you’ll be expected to inspect, approve or reject materials and workmanship.
- You will monitor site construction activities and be familiar with all aspects of the contract documentation.
- You’ll enact the role of employers ‘Supervisor’ under NEC contracts.
- Issuing site instructions, you will authenticate any record sheets issued by the Principal Contractor.
