This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the UK’s transition to clean energy within our New Infrastructure team as a Quantity Surveyor/Lead Quantity Surveyor, where you will provide contract and commercial guidance to the project teams to support the development and delivery of strategically critical, high value complex projects, such as the below:
East Coast Project: A 525kV High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) link developed by National Grid and partners - when commissioned, these projects shall will reinforce the transmission network between Scotland, Kent and in-between with multiple projects transferring 2GW of capacity each. Works incorporates offshore and onshore HVDC cables and multiple converter stations.
We are very flexible on location and as part of our hybrid working model, offering a mixture of home and office working. With our projects operating from various project offices however, the ability to travel to these will be essential (UK driving licence required).
About You
As a Quantity Surveyor with us, you will:
- Support procurement activities associated with the East Coast Offshore HVDC project(s), acting as lead commercial representative providing guidance on commercial and contract management considerations and advising on contract options and budget estimates, including risk & contingency allowance
- Lead in providing quality assurance of contracts, including maintaining accurate contractor data records
- Provide contract and risk management support, guidance and advice to the Project Delivery team, to ensure compliance and contractor costs are robustly managed across the portfolio of projects; including providing support and data to the project delivery team for any Board and/or regulatory reporting requirements
- Ensure contract compliance, through effective contract management activities including monitoring of spend against agreed budgets, KPIs and other metrics
- Provide commercial and contract management support, guidance and coaching as required to the project delivery teams
- Produce all necessary contract instructions and communications for the assigned project
- Lead in providing independent reviews and advice on variations and compensation events and supporting any escalation procedures and dispute avoidance/resolution
What You'll Get
- A salary of £45,000 - £64,000 dependant on capability, plus £3,000 Market Supplement
