Senior Cables Engineer
GB Warwick, GB, CV34 6DA
About the role
Join us and drive innovative cable engineering solutions for our transmission network.
Strategic Infrastructure is developing and constructing a series of HVDC projects along the east coast of Great Britain. These projects play a vital part in achieving the UK Government’s ambition of connecting 50GW of offshore wind by 2030.
As a Senior Cables Engineer, you'll oversee the scoping, development and technical assurance for new cable assets supporting our growing HVDC technology portfolio. The principal value created by this role is the identification and management of cable engineering opportunities and risks so that the overall business risk profile is suitably managed.
To create asset value, we require a cable engineering design, installation and testing plan which underpins the quality and timely delivery of a complex onshore and offshore electricity transmission portfolio. The role is designed to build upon the good work already underway and support the implementation of an engineering capability growth plan.
As a Subject Matter Expert, you'll establish consistent ways of working with Asset Operations, JV partners and OEM’s to create and embed world-class engineering practices across our growing portfolio of transmission assets. You'll be a thought leader who is passionate about creating sustainable cable engineering solutions to shape the asset management strategy.
This role welcomes applicants UK wide, and we offer hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to regular travel throughout England and Scotland, depending on the project.
