The Senior Offshore SHE Manager will be responsible for leading and drving all aspects of safety, health, and environment (SHE) in offshore operations and relevant projects within the ASTI portfolio. 

 

Supporting the SHES Director, and providing support to the Delivery Director, they will provide strategic direction, assurance and guidance to offshore operations and projects, overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive safety management systems. This includes conducting thorough risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and implementing preventive measures to mitigate risks. By fostering a safety-conscious culture and promoting proactive safety behaviours, they will contribute to the well-being and protection of our offshore workforce and supply chain.

 

They will develop and implement initiatives to prioritize the physical and mental well-being of our offshore workforce. This includes promoting health and wellness programs, ensuring access to medical resources and support, and addressing the unique health challenges associated with offshore operations. 

 

They will lead efforts to minimize the environmental impact of our offshore operations by developing and implementing environmental management systems, waste management protocols, and sustainable practices. 

 

The Senior Offshore SHE Manager will collaborate closely with project teams to integrate SHE considerations into project planning, design, and execution. This includes conducting regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with SHE standards, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions. By monitoring and analysing SHE performance metrics, they will identify trends, measure progress, and implement measures to continuously improve SHE performance.

 

The role holder will also lead appropriate incident investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions. By promoting a culture of continuous improvement, they will encourage learning from incidents and near-misses, sharing best practices, and implementing lessons learned to prevent future incidents.

 

Additionally, they will establish and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to stay informed about evolving SHE regulations, standards, and best practices.

•    Extensive experience in SHE management, preferably in offshore operations within related sectors.
•    Strong knowledge of offshore SHE regulations, standards, and best practices.
•    Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing SHE strategies, policies, and programs.
•    Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve SHE excellence.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to assess risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and drive continuous improvement.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
•    Proven experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
•    Experience in working with offshore contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
•    Ability to adapt to a dynamic and challenging offshore environment, managing multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously.
•    Strong computer skills and familiarity with SHE management systems and software.
•    Ability to travel to offshore locations as needed.

What you'll do

 

 

•    Develop and implement a comprehensive SHE strategy and management system for offshore operations, aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, and provide leadership to offshore SHE teams and projects, ensuring effective implementation of SHE policies, procedures, and programs.
•    Lead the development and implementation of safety management systems, including risk assessments, incident reporting, investigation, and emergency response protocols, whilst collaborating with offshore project teams to integrate SHE considerations into project planning, design, and execution.
•    Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with SHE standards and identify areas for improvement.
•    Monitor and analyse SHE performance metrics, identifying trends and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks and improve performance.
•    Lead incident investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
•    Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to offshore SHE, and ensure compliance within the organization.
•    Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to stay informed and influence SHE-related matters.
•    Provide guidance and support to offshore project teams in managing SHE risks, ensuring adequate resources and promoting a culture of safety.
•    Prepare and present SHE performance reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
•    Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting learning, sharing best practices, and implementing lessons learned from incidents and near-misses.
•    Mentor and develop offshore SHE personnel, fostering their professional growth and ensuring their readiness to meet organizational SHE goals.
 

What you'll get

 

A competitive salary between £75,000 – £90,000 – dependent on capability.


As well as your base salary, you will receive a company car or allowance, a bonus of up to 20% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
