It’s a very exciting time to join the (NGET) National Grid Electricity Transmission (AO) Asset Operations Team as a CDM Advisor. As a CDM Advisor, you’ll have expert knowledge of the (Construction Design & Management) CDM Regulations 2015, associated legislation and relevant National Grid Procedures as well as practical experience in complying with their requirements in a High Voltage (HV) environment. This will enable you to provide advice and assistance on CDM-related issues during pre-construction and construction phases. You must also understand how to carry out the duties of Principal Designer Representative (PD Rep) on a variety of HV construction projects when National Grid is undertaking the responsibilities of Principal Designer.


What are the requirements?
•    Expert knowledge of applying the CDM Regulations 2015.
•    A good understanding of the requirements of UK Health and Safety legislation generally, construction related Regulations and HSE Guidance specifically. 
•    Involvement on large scale utility construction projects – site management activities and site delivery.
•    Can show an understanding of the constraints and controls of a regulated business.
•    You understand the general requirements of procedural control of Temporary Works, the causes and consequences of Impressed Voltage and the hazards associated with National Grid projects and the risks faced by those working on them, and the general requirements of UK Environmental and waste management legislation.
•    Basic Electrical Safety Competence (BESC).
•    H&S qualification - IOSH or NEBOSH Construction certificate or SMSTS.
Desirable
•    You should be assessed under national Grid procedures: either TP144 previously Assessed (CDM-A) or assessed as NGET Combined Client Representative Development and Delivery. National Grid Person training. If these are not available at appointment you will be required to achieve within 6 months.

Pay and Benefits

•    £52,000 - £62,000 pa + Excellent Benefits Package.
•    26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days.
