Join us as an Acoustics Specialist and play a key role in shaping the future of the UK’s energy network. You’ll support some of the country’s biggest infrastructure projects, helping us deliver more renewable and low-carbon energy to homes and businesses. You’ll provide expert guidance on the environmental impact of noise from both existing and proposed electricity transmission infrastructure, helping us find smart, sustainable engineering solutions. Whether you’re modelling noise using cutting-edge software, conducting site monitoring across England and Wales, or advising on planning applications, your work will directly influence how we manage and reduce noise impacts.
We’re looking for a passionate acoustics professional, ideally a Member of the Institute of Acoustics, with strong communication skills, a deep understanding of noise risk, and the empathy to engage with communities. If you’ve got experience managing projects, navigating environmental regulations, and are ready to make a real impact—let’s talk.
Must haves:
• STEM Degree, IOA Diploma or degree in Acoustics.
• Fully competent in the use of noise modelling software packages e.g., CadnaA or Soundplan.
• Detailed working knowledge and experience of BS4142.
• Membership or Associate of the Institute of Acoustics.
• Experienced in the production of technical acoustic reports in support of local authority planning applications, and DCO (Development Consent Orders) in support of major infrastructure projects.
• Full UK Driving licence.
Pay and Benefits
• Starting salary £51,899 to £60,000 pa + Training and Development + Job requirement company car.
• 37 hours Monday – Friday.
• 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days.
