We’re offering a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of the electricity transmission network as we enter the RIIO T3 regulatory period, focused on growth, innovation, and modernisation.

 

As an Asset Lifecycle Engineer specialising in FACTS equipment—including capacitive compensation, SVCs, and STATCOMs—you’ll support the full asset lifecycle, from developing policies and technical standards to integrating new designs and technologies. You’ll work with suppliers, influence international standards, and contribute to long-term strategic decisions that ensure the network’s reliability and efficiency.

 

This role offers the chance to assess emerging technologies, travel to witness equipment testing, and engage with stakeholders across the industry. If you’re passionate about energy systems, innovation, and making an impact on critical national infrastructure, we’d love to hear from you.

Must haves:

•              A Numerate degree or demonstrable experience in a relevant engineering project environment.

•              Can evidence experience of specification, design, development, maintenance and/or lifetime management of FACTS equipment (e.g. Capacitive compensation, SVCs, STATCOMs).

•              Proven knowledge and understanding of the principles of Asset Management.

•              Membership or the ability to be a member of relevant professional body.

Desirable

•              Institute of Asset Management “Principles of Asset Management” certificate.

Pay and Benefits

•              A starting salary £51,899 to £65,000 pa + £3,000 pa Market Supplement + Benefits package

•              Training and Development.

•              37 hours Mon - Fri

•              26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days.

•              Statutory Bank Holiday swapping – you can change to another day.
