About The Role

 

 

Brand New Role – Permanent – UK Hybrid Working

As Assurance Manager you will work across a portfolio of nationally significant onshore and offshore infrastructure projects delivered both internally and via collaborative working arrangements. 
You’ll work to make Assurance a genuine topic of interest for your main stakeholders, developing ways to engage and influence. 
This is an entirely new role and you’ll be trusted to make it your own as well as growing your own team in the near future. 
You’ll join a collaborative, forward-thinking team, providing specialist support across the business.

 

This role is truly hybrid with access to many UK offices and the team typically get together face to face twice per month in Warwick. Where you work in the UK at other times is up to you. We continue to offer hybrid working from office and home to balance work and personal life. 
We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

•    An experienced assurance professional, potentially audit qualified, confident in your ability to plan, organise, execute, aggregate and report on assurance activity and the output therefrom.

•    A good appreciation of risk management, building risk-based assurance plans and recognising the risk arising from adverse assurance findings.

•    Experience of assurance within major construction project / programme / portfolio management and delivery organisations.

•    Experience of developing risk culture within organisations 

•    A confident communicator and can distil large volumes of information into a concise and meaningful summary to support decision making.

•    A good builder of networks within an organisation to achieve your objectives.

•    Creative and innovative when identifying sources of assurance intelligence.

What You'll Do

 

 

•    Working with subject matter experts, you’ll lead the creation, planning and coordination of the integrated L2 annual risk-based assurance plan of processes and procedures within Strategic Infrastructure (S.I) to inform the measurement of the effectiveness of the control environment, provide an appropriate level of assurance risk for SI and its stakeholders, and ensuring assurance outputs are reflected in the risk profiles.
•    Contributing to the development and continual improvement of the SI portfolio risk and assurance framework, you’ll ensure alignment with other parts of National Grid where required.
•    Reviewing and aggregating 1st-3rd line assurance measures and findings across SI, you will identify trends / themes, ensure they are reflected in the risk profiles and escalate where necessary such as to the quarterly SI risk and assurance forum .
•    Using a collaborative approach across various stakeholders, you will assure compliance with business, contractual and legislative requirements as well as sharing best practice and learning opportunities.
•    Update and monitor compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and support the routine compliance and assurance returns 
•    Support the development of an assurance and improvement culture throughout the business to support compliance and adoption of best practice, providing stakeholder confidence through effective assurance and structured improvement .
 

 

 

What You'll Get

 

 

A competitive starting salary between £62,000 – £72,000 dependent on capability.

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
