About The Role

 

We invite you to be part of our Strategic Infrastructure (SI) business unit, which has been operating for the past two years and is embarking on 17 groundbreaking major projects across the UK. This initiative is crucial for achieving our net zero ambitions and supporting the UK government's target of 50GW of renewable energy by 2030.

 

We are seeking a passionate Colleague Communication and Engagement Manager for SI. In this pivotal role, you will partner with the SI President and Executive team to develop and execute engaging colleague communications, shaping our strategy and bringing our purpose, vision, and values to life.

What You'll Do

 

  • Develop and implement the Strategic Infrastructure colleague communications and engagement strategy
  • Craft and manage compelling content across internal channels, ensuring consistency and clarity of key messages.
  • Track and measure performance of content and channels, using data to inform communication planning.
  • Provide communication counsel to leadership and teams, ensuring alignment with the communication strategy.
  • Plan and manage events and campaigns as required.
  • Share best practices and collaborate with colleague communication teams across National Grid to drive engagement and effective communication
     

 

About You

 

Experience and Knowledge 

  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing colleague communications and engagement strategies, plans, and campaigns.
  • In-depth knowledge of the internal communication mix, including planning, research, measurement, and channel usage.
  • Skilled writer with the ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences across multiple channels.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with partner organisations.
  • Proven experience of working with and advising senior leadership teams.
  • Proven experience of providing colleague communications advice and support in large complex organisations.

 

Capability Experience 

  • Ability to produce high-quality content under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Creative and adaptable communication style, tailoring messages to specific audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing abilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of timely delivery and managing competing communications challenges.

What You'll Get

 

A competitive salary between £59,000 - £70,000 – dependent on capability


As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.

  • This role is offered on a Full-Time, Permanent basis 
  • We are also offering hybrid /flexible working where travel to the office will be as per business need. Base location for this role will be National Grid House, Warwick.
