This role is based out of our Warwick office, and we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!

  • Support other departmental risk management processes which may at any time include the annual Senior Accounting Officer reporting process and other CFO risk and/ or business continuity initiatives.
  • Support the transition of the tax function towards a fully digital function and readiness for Making Tax Digital for Corporation Tax.
  • Support the Senior Corporate Tax Manager to ensure that any business development activities and growth strategies are undertaken subject to the appropriate tax advice.
  • Act as an advisor and partner to the business on corporate tax matters keeping close links with the business to identify any early stage any areas of concern.

What You'll Have

  • Recognised accountancy and/ or tax qualification.
  • Strong background in UK Corporation Tax.
  • Proven tax accounting and reporting skills.
  • Experience of working collaboratively (e.g., business partnering) across a large business.
  • An interest in automation and related tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, other analytical processes)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At National Grid, we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace for everyone. So, if you’re excited about this role but your experience or qualifications don’t match the job description exactly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might just be the right person for our growing business in this role or another one.
