We’re passionate about both operating our network safely and providing highly reliable quality of supply for our customers. At the heart of achieving these outcomes is the effective control and operation of our network.

As Cyber Ancillary Systems Lead, you’ll be responsible for the security and resilience of specific operational technology (OT) laptop assets and applications, which are used to interface with critical OT assets, ensuring essential data is in place to operate the system.  You’ll have accountability for the security controls that ensure the critical cyber data can be safely stored and moved on to OT Cyber Assets without loss of integrity or confidentiality.

You’ll also be responsible for the hardware used to transit the data to the critical OT Assets to the databases and applications that securely store the data. This will include the data security of internal national grid systems as well as those that are held within the supply chain contracted to manage and maintain OT Cyber assets for the essential service.

You’ll manage NGET’s OT Ancillary system cyber risk, and maintain the inventory of critical systems, setting the roadmap for prioritising and mitigating the highest risks. You’ll also set the strategy and policy for the routine security patching of OT Cyber Ancillary Systems to ensure they remain resilient to potential threats.  You’ll act as a second level business support, providing your technical expertise regarding cyber risks, defining operational processes, procedures and designs to enable the safe connection and disconnection to primary assets.

We’re flexible on where you’re based but there will be a requirement for you to work out of our offices in Warwick 2 days per week and this can be combined with hybrid working from home.  There will be the need for occasional travel to substations across the country.

As you’ll be interacting with NGET operators and third-party contractors and suppliers, good stakeholder management and communication skills are essential.  You’ll have a high degree of self-motivation and possess analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
