We’re looking for a passionate Finance Analyst – Finance Business Partner to join our Strategic Infrastructure (SI) business. You’ll join a team of Finance Business Partners who work hand in hand with Directors of National Grid’s Strategic Infrastructure business, responsible for delivering the biggest upgrade the National Grid has seen in decades. These projects will together enable 50 Gigawatts of offshore wind to deliver substantial decarbonisation of our energy system. This is a new business unit which presents an exciting opportunity to build new solutions and create new ways of working.

 

Our team works across the SI business to ensure business leaders understand their financial performance in the context regulatory framework and the commitments we have made to our shareholders. We are accountable for ensuring the business’s plans are ambitious and deliv-erable. We support the business to find opportunities to embed efficiencies that drive value for shareholders and consumers, and we provide insight and challenge where we see risks to per-formance. Critical to success will be a high-quality forecast that finds innovative ways to re-port and manage material uncertainty and risk across a complex portfolio with tight deliver schedules.

 

This role will be based out of our Warwick office, and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop relationships with business management team and Finance Business Partners to enhance business performance through financial insights.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partner colleagues to foster a financial performance culture, identifying process weaknesses and implementing balanced solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted partner, leveraging your financial expertise and project knowledge to support the wider business.
  • Ensure investment decisions are made with financial rigor, clarifying the accounting and regulatory impacts on financial targets.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects to build the financial and operational infrastructure for a national-scale transformative program.
  • Support with the delivery of key business projects by developing business cases, assessing risks, and tracking opportunities across the project portfolio.
  • Provide commercial insights on contracts and assist in managing value delivery from supply chain partners.
  • Understand business contexts related to value opportunities and translate information into financial business cases.
  • Proactively enhance knowledge of RIIO and its industry impact to support key decisions.

What You’ll Have:

  • Qualified Accountant  (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) with financial planning, budgeting,  forecasting and reporting experience.
  • Experience at a business partner level, you’re comfortable balancing support for financial performance with necessary challenging conversations.
  • Comfortable with juggling various tasks and able to focus on priorities in a demanding environment.
  • Commercial mindset with strong stakeholder management skills for building trusted relationships.
  • Relationship builder, facilitating collaboration to achieve goals.
  • Engaged and adaptable individual, capable of leading or supporting as needed.
  • Problem solver, you’re curious and willing to dig deep to solve things. 
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a track record of effective, sustainable enhancements and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Regulatory experience preferred but not essential.

A competitive salary of up to £58,000– dependent on capability.
 
As well as your base salary you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
