About The Role
The Finance Product Director, reporting to the Global Head of Corporate Systems, serves as the interface between IT&D and the Finance organisation, acting as a business partner to the Finance leadership team. This role involves translating Finance's requirements to IT&D and helping the Finance function understand the technology roadmap. As a subject matter expert in Finance processes and IT&D systems, the Finance Product Director is responsible for developing and delivering the Finance systems roadmap, leading both long and short-term planning, and managing financial governance. Additionally, the role includes developing a five-year regulatory investment plan, liaising with Ofgem, monitoring regulatory spend, and providing updates to the regulator. The Finance Product Director also leads the Agile Release Train for continuous changes to the SAP-based ERP system and manages the Release Train Engineer and Scrum Masters.
Key Accountabilities:
- Business Relationship Management: Accountable for working with and influencing relevant senior stakeholders across the Finance function.
- Strategic IT Planning: Work with the business to identify opportunities where IT&D can add value, improve efficiency or drive innovation.
- Regulatory and Financial Planning and Management: Develop and document the 5 year regulatory investment plan for Finance systems.
- Programme Management & Delivery: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Finance systems development in collaboration with project and product teams and business and IT&D stakeholders.
- Change Management & Stakeholder Communications: Act as an advocate for business needs within IT&D ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- People Management: Lead, coach, develop and build a resilient and high-performing team of Project Managers, Scrum Masters and Product Managers who are capable of understanding and delivering on the technology vision and strategy, contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and take ownership of their career progression.
About You
- Exceptional communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills and stakeholder management experience.
- Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation and across functions.
- Strong influencing skills and ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, clearly and concisely.
- Strong decision-making ability.
- Able to work under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines and quickly update stakeholders on impact.
- Detailed knowledge/experience of Finance processes and systems with an ability to engage credibly at all levels within the Finance function.
- Experience of managing a multi-million pound investment budget.
- Excels at working with people and developing teams (coaching, training, facilitating and collaborating).
- Eagerness to continually develop self through high quality training and the latest industry trends with regular, guided self-reflection and “mentoring”.
- Knowledge and experience of implementing an Agile delivery framework with technology scrum teams.
What You'll Get
A competitive salary between £90,000 – £120,000 – dependent on capability
As well as your base salary, you will receive a company car or allowance, a bonus of up to 20% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
