Financial Accountant

We’re looking for a passionate Financial Accountant to join to join our Controllership team! The overall aim of the Financial Accountant is to protect the value of our business by ensuring the integrity of our external reporting and control environment and to collaborate with the CFO team and interact with business stakeholders to influence successful business outcomes.
This role is based out of our Warwick office, and we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What You'll Do
- Involved in the month end close and reporting processes of the NGET business, including preparation of adhoc journals for posting into our SAP S4 system, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Support teams and inputs to develop a comprehensive and consistent view of the financial position of the Business Unit.
- Support an effective control environment, regarding financial, management and regulatory reporting, to include both SOx and Non-SOx controls.
- Support with the audit of the statutory accounts, including liaising with the external auditors.
- Support preparation of the externally reported semi-annual group financial reporting packages.
- Provide guidance, and assist where necessary, the wider team with queries.
- Ability to bring together commercial and technical acumen (accounting, tax, ESG, regulatory, etc)
- Ensure maintenance of financial records for compliance with policies and procedures.
- Support the development of technical training to ensure compliance to policy standards.
- Maintain close liaison with other Centres of Expertise, developing business knowledge and technical acumen. Support on Financial Control related projects and transactions.
What You'll Have
- A Qualified Accountant, ideally with an external audit or financial accounting or statutory background.
- Experience with Financial Statements, statutory accounts, SOx controls.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Reporting financial information and accounting principles knowledge.
- Being able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Planning, forecasting and budgeting
- Ability to challenge the status quo.
- Experience in Financial Modelling
- Ability to work within a team to execute end to end financial reporting processes.
