National Grid is hiring three Global Onboarding Specialists to join our Onboarding team in Warwick. The role is hybrid so you can enjoy working from home as well as the office.

About the role

 

As a Global Onboarding Specialist you will be responsible for managing and executing the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires across National Grid, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. This includes coordinating pre-employment activities, overseeing tasks completed by joiners, hiring managers, and other teams, and providing continuous support from Day-1 through to first 30 days of employment. 

 

Alongside delivering quality onboarding experience, the role will ensure compliance through completion all necessary pre-employment checks, as well as ensuring all joiners have right-to-work documentation in place. Additionally, the role includes managing outbound global mobility moves for external joiners.

What you'll do

 

  • Coordinate pre-boarding activities, including sending welcome communications, preparing documentation, and ensuring systems and equipment are ready.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires during the onboarding phase.
  • Schedule and facilitate onboarding sessions, including orientation, compliance training, and introductions to key departments.
  • Partner with IT, Facilities, Payroll, and hiring managers to ensure all logistics are handled prior to Day 1.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of employee records in HRIS and compliance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Track onboarding progress and feedback, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of onboarding materials and processes.
  • Monitor probationary milestones and ensure timely feedback collection for performance and experience evaluation.

What you'll need

 

  • Proven experience in HR, People Operations, or a similar role with onboarding responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, BambooHR) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high-quality employee experience.

• Manages time-sensitive onboarding tasks with urgency and accuracy.

Problem-Solving Orientation


• Quickly finds solutions when things go off track (e.g., missing equipment or login delays).
• Takes initiative to remove blockers before they escalate

We will be conducting interviews for this role on the 17th and 18th July via MS Teams

Competitive annual salary of £40,706.00 per annum
