Network Risk and Modelling Manager
Warwick, GB, CV34 6DA
Unlock your Superpower and develop new ways of solving huge problems.
As the Network Risk And Modelling Manager you’ll have a great responsibility leading in the space that determines what it takes to optimise the balance of cost, risk and performance for the entire Electricity Transmission network for England and Wales.
National Grid’s ‘Asset Operations’ business maintains the high voltage electricity network, spanning over 4,500 miles of overhead lines, 900 miles of underground cable, and more than 300 substations. This is a dynamic, essential network that powers millions of homes and businesses. With 250,000 assets under our management, we’re constantly evolving to meet the energy demands of tomorrow.
You’ll join the Asset Strategy team, we think BIG. We consider the entire network and all of our assets. The condition, the risk, the performance and most importantly the value our network assets bring to the services we deliver to customers. Optimising and balancing all these factors underpins our view of investment required to ensure we efficiently and effectively manage the electricity network today and in the long term.
A new role in a new team, and a fantastic opportunity for you to be right at the heart of developing the big picture. Understanding what it takes to operate, maintain and invest and manage the risks for the entire electricity transmission network in England and Wales. Solving huge problems using innovative and sophisticated modelling and optimisers is the goal of this team. We use big data, bring big ideas to the table and tackle big challenges.
Essentially as well as solving huge problems you’ll build and manage a new team at the heart of the electricity transmission network that sets forward the long term pathway of investment decision making.
