About the role
National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) is at the heart of energy in the UK. The electricity we provide gets the nation to work, powers schools and brings energy to life. Our energy network connects the nation, so it’s essential that it’s continually evolving, advancing and improving. In NGET we are passionate about both operating our network safely and providing highly reliable quality of supply for our customers.

Reviewing and reporting on these, you will identify, escalate and manage key portfolio risks, thereby providing insight and assurance to National Grid staff and leadership on core business processes and outcomes.
You will work with stakeholders, including Project Managers and Planners, to create better insights including critical path understanding and quantifying the impacts to risks and mitigations. Using your knowledge of power system engineering, you will query the deliverability of what’s in the plan and understand whether our mitigations are acceptable, challenging teams on the mitigations when necessary.
In addition, you will be responsible for the following:
• Define and operate a framework for making decisions, manage stakeholder relationships, and identify legitimate authority.
• Develop, produce and deliver regular and one-off management information to provide insights and aid decision-making, including ad hoc reports to support monthly KPI packs.
• Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria.
• Develop dashboards using BI tools to provide insights to support decision-making from operational to Exec level to drive business improvements.
• Introduce automation to existing reporting landscape.
• Lead cross departmental collaboration on KPI and data sharing to drive business improvements.
• Document key risks, impacts and mitigation plans to provide increased visibility of delivery performance & risk management.
This role is based in our offices in Warwick, and this can be combined with hybrid working from home.
