As a Planner, you will play a pivotal role in the success of Offshore Electricity Transmission Projects, specifically focusing on the development and maintenance of the Integrated Programme Schedule for a cutting-edge HVDC project within a dynamic Joint Venture. Your role as planner will entail:

 

  • Schedule Development: Lead the creation and ongoing management of a comprehensive Integrated Programme Schedule, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Information Management: Provide consistent, timely, and accurate schedule information to facilitate informed decision-making across the project team.
  • Regulatory Support: Navigate and support the project through the regulatory framework, ensuring compliance and timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to foster a collaborative environment that drives successful project outcomes.

 

This role is based on a project in the North West of England, with regular travel required.

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated planning and scheduling experience on major infrastructure projects, ideally within a regulated industry.
  • Planning Expertise: Strong understanding of planning methodologies, interface management, and the principles of an integrated master schedule.
  • UK Infrastructure Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of UK infrastructure project stages, encompassing pre-construction activities (consenting, design, development) as well as construction and commissioning phases.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communicator and influencer, capable of navigating and thriving in complex matrix environments.
  • Primavera P6 Professional Certification and proven planning experience.
  • Professional Certification (one of the following or relevant):

    • AACE Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP)
    • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)
    • PMI Scheduling Professional (SP)
    • Project Planning and Control (PPC)
    • APM Project Management Qualification
  • UK Driving License

What you'll do

 

As a Planner, you will be instrumental in the development and maintenance of the Integrated Project Programme Schedule, ensuring alignment with the Strategic Infrastructure Management System framework and its minimum requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

•Integrated Project Schedule Management: Develop and maintain the Integrated Project Programme Schedule, ensuring it meets the strategic objectives and minimum requirements of the framework.
•Outage Visibility: Provide clear visibility of planned outages by projects to facilitate optimisation and efficient resource allocation.
•Reporting Clarity: Deliver comprehensive reporting on critical path analysis, float analysis, earned value management, and key interface milestones as part of the Strategic Infrastructure reporting cycle.
•Support Key Activities: Assist in key project activities, including Quantitative Schedule Risk Assessments (QSRA), to enhance project delivery.
•Impact Assessments: Conduct impact assessments for early warnings or compensation events arising from our supply chain or Project Manager, providing actionable recommendations for corrective actions.
•Supplier Validation: Assess and validate supplier returns during the procurement phase and monitor contractor progress throughout the design and delivery phases by attending site visits to confirm construction progress.
•Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with other Project Planners within a matrix organisation to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Identify efficiencies, ensure consistency, and establish best practices for effective planning.

What you'll get

 

A competitive salary between £54,000 - £65,000 – dependent on capability.

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
