Job Purpose

 

We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Portfolio Delivery Lead to join our Electricity System Operator (ESO) the ESO Change team plays a key role in monitoring and driving our portfolio projects delivery. The Portfolio Delivery Lead is a key, customer facing role coordinating the ESO  Change Flexible Resource Pool (approx. 14) that will include Project Managers, PMOs, Business Analysts, Change Management Professionals etc. and actively supporting delivery of cross-ESO projects and programmes as required.

 

The role will be located on a ‘hybrid’ basis between home and the ESO offices and can be based either in Warwick or Wokingham. Travel to both sites will therefore be required.

About the role

 

  • Coordinate the ESO Change Flexible Resource Pool, ensuring the team provides a high-quality service to internal customers by consistently meeting their needs for project and change management resources. This will include:
    • assessing new resourcing demand and contract renewals
    • leading recruitment, selection & on-boarding
    • day to day coordination of the resource pool
    • provision of guidance and coaching to project / change managers to increase quality of service delivery and adoption of the ESO’s Change Delivery Framework
    • feeding into wider work on strategic workforce planning
  • Managing the relationship with the current resourcing supplier and exploring additional resourcing options, such as outsourcing and creating an internal secondment market
  • Working closely with the Portfolio PMO team to understand programme and project statuses and identifying when additional interventions are required
  • Working with the ESO Portfolio Manager and Programme/Project Managers to resolve portfolio-level risks, issues and dependencies

About you

 

  • Previous Project Management Delivery experience in a highly regulated industry highly beneficial
  • Practical experience in at least 2 of the following areas: Portfolio Management, Programme Management, Agile Project Management, Change Management, Continuous Improvement, Operating model design and implementation
  • A strong understanding of key roles involved in project and change delivery
  • Recruitment and selection experience
  • Experience of working in dispersed, high performing and agile teams (team members working on numerous unrelated projects).

What you'll get

 

A competitive salary between £44,000 – £56,000 – dependent on capability
