An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Regulation Managers to join our team in Warwick! This role offers flexible hybrid working, requiring you to be on-site 1-2 times a week.

 

You will be joining an existing role in our busy, growing Regulation team in National Grid Electricity Transmission, right at the heart of National Grid’s work in ensuring that our network is ready for the future. This is an exciting role supporting ET’s delivery teams to grow and maintain our transmission network,  critical activity to shape the future of the GB energy sector at a vital phase in our transition to net zero!

About The Role

Responsible for supporting our NGET business with all regulatory activity including policy and funding support.  This includes maintaining and navigating the regulatory and policy landscape, building strong relationships with our key stakeholders and ultimately securing regulatory approval for our major investments. This will involve:

 

  • Providing regulatory expertise to National Grid colleagues: You will use your knowledge of the regulatory framework to provide ongoing guidance and challenge to National Grid colleagues, navigating our RIIO-T3 investment plan. 
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships: Build and maintain constructive partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Ofgem, the NESO and relevant DNOs.
  • Securing the regulatory approvals, we need to deliver our major investments: Leading the post submission regulatory process during 2025 for RIIO-T3 including Supplementary Questions, policy development and draft determinations. Prepare high-quality regulatory submissions, clearly explaining our rationale for a given investment and demonstrating how it is in the interests of consumers.

About You

  • Experience in energy policy or regulation, with understanding of the GB energy sector, its regulatory framework and our key stakeholders.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, with significant experience of drafting complex submissions to key decision-makers.
  • Stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues.
  • An open, pragmatic mindset, confident in tackling new or unexpected challenges and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Results oriented, able to manage timely delivery of complex projects, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Commercial awareness, with a good understanding of commercial value and an ability to rapidly understand commercial value drivers in a new context.
  • Willing to learn about the transmission system, as needed. 
  • Degree level in a relevant discipline, or have an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £60,000 - £75,000 – dependent on capability


As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
